• Perform discrete digital and analog circuit design (microprocessor, power supplies, MOSFET).
• Actively participate in system-level design, cost estimates, scheduling, and project management.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales & Marketing, Senior Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing,
Quality, and customer evaluation organizations (e.g., DOT).
• Utilize PCB design tools (preferred: DipTrace) and prepare fabrication specifications, including power
requirements, mechanical specifications, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM).
• Develop and maintain design documentation, including schematics, specifications, test plans, and
design notes.
• Use common lab and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVMs, power supplies, and
function generators.
• Support LED-based product development, including luminance testing, LED evaluation, qualifying
drivers, and optics design.
• Assist in interpreting and implementing customer specifications for final product deliverables.
• Employ simulation tools and mechanical drawing software to support design accuracy and
communication.

• 3–5 years of professional engineering experience.
• Embedded systems experience with microprocessor-based designs.
• Proficiency with digital and discrete component design.
• Proficiency in component selection and qualification (costs, lead-times, EOL mitigation, etc.)
• Familiarity with C programming for embedded environments.
• Strong working knowledge of standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, DVMs, etc.).
• Understanding of environmental and ESD testing/mitigation.
• Proficiency in design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and product lifecycle.
• Project management capability, including schedule and task management.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Schematic and PCB layout tools (DipTrace preferred) and a solid understanding of
PCB fabrication processes.
• Experience with battery-powered and solar systems is a plus.
• Experience creating and maintaining engineering design documentation.
• Ability to develop specification sheets, cost analyses, and project schedules.
• Background working with cross-functional teams throughout an organization.
• LED system design experience, including luminance measurement, driver qualification, and optical
system considerations.
