Responsibilities
- Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removals using:
- Climbing systems (ropes, harnesses, rigging)
- Aerial lift / bucket truck operations
- Operate bucket trucks safely, including setup, positioning, and boom operation
- Set up and manage rigging systems for controlled lowering of limbs and tree sections
- Safely operate chainsaws and cutting equipment both in-tree and from bucket
- Assess trees for hazards, structural integrity, and proper removal approach
- Communicate clearly with ground crew to coordinate safe and efficient work
- Conduct daily equipment inspections (bucket trucks, climbing gear, rigging equipment)
- Follow all safety procedures, including PPE, ANSI standards, and job site hazard assessments
- Assist with job site setup, traffic control, and cleanup as needed
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
Experience
- 2 years of tree climbing experience required
- Experience operating bucket trucks / aerial lifts required
- Strong knowledge of:
- Climbing systems and knots
- Rigging and controlled removals
- Chainsaw operation and safety
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with DOT requirements and safe vehicle operation
***Candidates with both climbing and bucket experience will be prioritized and compensated accordingly.
