Responsibilities
- Apply joint compound, tape, and finishing techniques to drywall surfaces, ensuring smooth, seamless results.
- Sand and prepare drywall for painting or further finishing work, maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately assess project requirements.
- Install drywall panels, including metal stud framing and other supporting structures, following safety protocols.
- Perform related tasks such as caulking, trim carpentry, door hanging, and fixture installation to complete interior finishes.
- Collaborate with carpenters, plasterers, masons, and other trades to ensure cohesive project progress.
- Assist with water damage restoration and mold remediation efforts when necessary to uphold building integrity.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in drywall finishing or related construction roles with site experience.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of plastering, taping techniques, sanding methods, and surface preparation.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and various building materials such as stucco and metal studs.
- Hands-on experience with drywall installation, trim carpentry, flooring installation, tile laying, and painting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures on construction sites and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment.
