Responsibilities
- Assist teachers with lesson planning and implementing curriculum activities tailored to diverse student needs, including literacy, math, and early childhood development concepts.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for children.
- Work closely with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives and provide additional support as needed.
- Help supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions to promote positive behavior and social skills.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism or other developmental challenges, ensuring they receive appropriate care and attention.
- Assist with classroom routines such as preparing materials, setting up learning stations, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff to support each child's unique learning journey.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development preferred but not required.
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school environments or similar settings preferred but not required.
- willing to complete Maryland training requirements( we can help guide you through the process)
- Classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment and promote respectful behavior.
