Staff Tax Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining various tax related functions, assisting the tax team with income tax preparation.

Responsibilities Will Include

Perform general accounting, including but not limited to the following:

• Prepare federal, state and local tax returns accurately and timely.
• Prepare federal and state estimates and extensions.
• Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including temporary and permanent differences.
• Prepare tax payment vouchers, create the wires and save proof of payment reports.
• Prepare IRS legal entity update letters upon notification from the legal department.
• Resolve tax notices.
• Perform tax research and document positions to ensure compliance.
  
  

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 1-2 years’ experience as a Tax Preparer or a similar role.

CPA certification or progress toward certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in tax research.
• Understanding of tax laws.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data with integrity.
  
  

Additional Skills

• Knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Extensive knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office 365.
• Knowledge of general ledger computer systems.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to interact well with other Associates in various departments.
• Ability to work with moderate supervision.
