Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Maintenance: Assemble new units and perform routine maintenance, including oiling, greasing, and checking parts.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose malfunctions in brakes, motors, and control systems using test equipment, such as voltmeters and ammeters.
- Safety Compliance: Conduct safety tests to ensure compliance with state and local building codes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service, repairs, and parts used.
- Client Interaction: Respond to emergency service calls and communicate with building managers regarding repairs.
Job Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a mechanical or electrical field; usually requires a 4-year apprenticeship.
- Certifications: A Certified Competent Conveyance Mechanic (CCCM) license.
- Skills: Advanced knowledge of elevator systems, blueprints, and electrical circuitry.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in tight spaces or at heights.
