What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC MACHINIST position at K&G Manufacturing Company?
Location: Faribault, MN
Shift Schedule: 4-10's Nights - Monday to Thursday from 4:00PM to 2:30AM.
Job Type: Full Time
Pay rate: Starting at $28.05/hr.
Position Overview: Under minimal supervision, perform complex set-ups and various machining operations as required. Operations include general and complex machining, programming, program editing and precision machining using CNC machine tools and controls.
Responsibilities:
- Understands the machining processes to be performed and efficiently sets-up and operates assigned CNC machine tools, in order to produce a quality product.
- Maintains acceptable quality levels by using established inspection techniques, and Statistical Process Control, to solve problems relating to manufacturing activities ensuring that all products meet customer requirements thereby supporting company quality objectives.
- Performs duties of lead person as necessary, providing work direction and assistance to employees while ensuring that production, safety and quality standards are met.
- Efficiently reads and understands blue prints for machining operations so as to ensure the highest quality product.
- Moves necessary materials needed to complete daily production requirements to work area as required.
- Maintains accurate inventory of in-process and semi-finished product in order to ensure efficient manufacture of customer products.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing team members who encounter machinability problems in order to determine the best course of action to correct such problems.
- Performs material handling duties as necessary, including the safe and efficient operation of fork lifts and other mechanized material handling equipment.
Requirements:/Qualifications: High School Education or equivalent.
One or two year technical college machine tool certificate. (Perferred)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in close tolerance precision machining environment.
Demonstrated skill in CNC and macro programming.
Demonstrated knowledge of machine tool processes and capabilities.
