Job purpose

The Accounts Receivable Clerk will assist in the timely and accurate application of payments and adjustments within the accounting department. This role will also assist in the billing of an asphalt plant. A high level of attention to detail, strong communication, solid interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently within a fast, paced environment will be needed for success.

Duties and responsibilities

• Daily application of customer payments to the appropriate invoices.
• Enter necessary adjustments due to tax or pricing changes.
• Import asphalt plant tickets into the accounting software.
• Process material invoices including emailing and mailing to customers.
• Identify, research and communicate plant ticket and invoice short pay discrepancies.
• Crosstrain on the entry of miscellaneous invoices, billing for other plants, and generation of waivers.
• Attend collections meetings and backup the position when necessary.
• Assist in coverage of reception.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or related work experience preferred.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or a related field.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.

Pay & Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00 per hour. K-Five Construction offers part time benefits that include participation in the company 401k plan and PTO that accrues throughout the year. Actual pay rates will vary and are determined based on a combination of several factors, such as experience, education, budget, and internal equity.
