What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Coordinator position at K & D SERVICES INC?
Summary/Objective
The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the maintenance of the organization's motor vehicle fleet. Develops and implements truck and equipment preventive maintenance programs. Develops and maintains outside vendor and service provider relationships. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving issues that occur and require coordination with other departments or vendors to solve them.
Essential Functions
- Coordinates truck issues with Assistant Manager.
- Performs truck inspections as scheduled and for required audits.
- Provides weekly summary of activities to Assistant Manager.
- Coordinates recovery and repairs of trucks.
- Conducts random audits and inventory counts of standard safety equipment in company vehicles and storage facilities.
- Delivers traffic control equipment to job-sites or storage facilities as directed.
- Coordinates trucks for detail annually, or as necessary.
- Reports truck damage and improper use to the Assistant Manager.
- Receives requests for fleet assistance from dispatch.
- Recommends life cycle replacement of vehicles based on annual budget and workforce needs.
- Conducts light in-field maintenance including light bulb replacement, windshield wiper replacement, checking tire pressure, fluid top-offs and other repair/maintenance as approved by Assistant Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must carry company phone to receive calls; at times, be on-call, when informed and follow the On-Call policy.
- Must have basic level of computer proficiency – specifically Google and MS Office 365.
- Must have basic vehicle maintenance skills.
- Must have knowledge of tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to listen to and understand needs of drivers and operations.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interface with and provide excellent customer service.
