Responsibilities
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and other commercial vehicles with manual transmissions.
- Load and unload packages using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, ensuring proper handling of heavy or fragile items.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations to maximize productivity.
- Deliver packages directly to customers’ doors with a focus on excellent customer service, addressing any questions or concerns professionally.
- Verify recipient identities and obtain signatures when required, maintaining accurate delivery documentation.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and ensure compliance with safety standards at all times.
- Assist in warehouse tasks such as organizing shipments, inventory management, and preparing packages for daily routes when necessary.
Experience
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or courier is highly preferred, especially with route driving responsibilities.
- Demonstrated customer service skills that foster positive interactions with clients and the public.
- Ability to lift heavy packages repeatedly and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy lifting, moving goods, and operating commercial vehicles.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory depending on the vehicle type.
