THIS IS A TEMPORARY, ANNUAL EXTRA-DUTY POSITION THAT CAN RENEW FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR AT THE TIME OF THE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION. ADDITIONAL ONE YEAR CONTRACTS MAY BE PROVIDED ANNUALLY AFTER INITIAL HIRE.
The District Mentor Program Coordinator (DMPC) will coordinate and oversee the District K-12 Certified Mentor Program. They will also be a primary mentor for some new staff as applicable. They will create and maintain the Mentor Program handbook, in conjunction with District Administration and the Certified Union. They will assist in recruiting, hiring and training Mentor Teachers as needed. They will evaluate and communicate that need to Human Resources annually. They will assist in budgeting for following years programs as needed. They will observe, direct, and manage the work and responsibilities of the Mentor Teachers throughout the school year. The DMPC will report mentee progress to building administrators.
Qualifications:
- Ability and willingness to work some days during summer and/or other school breaks
- Knowledge of current concepts, methods and procedures for curriculum development and implementation
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate in a positive manner
- Knowledge and implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
- Skilled at Formative & Summative Assessment Practices that align with the CCSS
- Skilled at Differentiated Instructional Practices
- Skilled at Student Engagement Practices
- Desires to be a part of the Culver school community outside of the classroom
- Ability to use current technology & willingness to learn specially designed programs
- Read, understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Skilled at teaching district processes and procedures to colleagues
- Skilled at using district programs and technology, completing district processes accurately, etc.
