Reefer OTR Driver Needed

Overview

JWH Transport based in Lindale, GA. a Veteran Owned, 55 Truck Company, has positions available for OTR drivers. We run for major food distributors chain. Major runs include:

GA to:

TX, FL, IN, SC, TN, MD

From these locations we either continue within the network or return back to GA.

Duties

• Safely operate refrigerated trailers (reefers) across long distances, following designated routes using GPS navigation systems.
• Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of cargo such as hazardous materials or temperature-sensitive goods.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer, checking for mechanical issues, refrigeration functionality, and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
• Ensure compliance with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods, including proper placarding and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate route adjustments, delivery schedules, and any unforeseen issues during transit.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks when required for specific deliveries or cargo handling tasks.

Experience

• Proven commercial truck driving experience with a focus on route driving over long distances in various weather conditions.
• Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers equipped with refrigerated units.
• Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures including load & unload operations for freight like flatbed loads, tankers, or roll-off trucks.
• Understanding of FMCSA regulations related to hours of service, safety protocols, and hazardous materials handling.
• Experience in delivering freight safely and efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to operate GPS navigation tools confidently and adapt to dynamic routing requirements.
• Prior experience working with forklift operations or other heavy equipment such as dump trucks or freight roll-off trucks is a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
