Job Description
JWFI is a growing metal manufacturing company, continuing to expand into defense & other markets with long-term work. We’re looking to interview candidates to join our Supply Chain team! The Procurement Specialist will handle contract negotiations with suppliers regarding price and delivery commitments for new quotes, contracts, and existing purchase orders. They will also review production schedules and related information with Project Managers and other personnel to determine material requirements and to identify & track materials.
Essential Duties
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Obtain quotes as a basis for negotiating new contracts and expired existing items from qualified suppliers
- Computes amount of material required to complete job orders and contacts vendors to requisition materials
- Contacts vendor by mail, phone, or visit to verify shipment of goods/ materials on specified dates according to job order priorities and material availability
- Arranges for distribution of materials upon arrival
- Maintains system accuracy, such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials
Education Level
One year of related experience or certificate (CSCP, CPIM, or similar), or equivalent combination
Experience
Work requires familiarity with manufacturing methods and reading blueprints, as well as the ability to identify manufacturing sources and negotiate favorable pricing.
Work requires the ability to speak effectively with customers, employees and suppliers.
Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

The individual will frequently walk. The individual must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision requirements such as color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
When in Productions areas, the individual may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to wet and/ or humid conditions and extreme cold or heat. The individual is at risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
