Our client, a multi-manager hedge fund, is seeking a Sector Data Analyst to support its Healthcare investment effort, with a focus on leveraging data to drive investment insights. This role sits within the investment process, using data as an input to inform decision-making.
ROLE CAN BE BASED IN SAN FRANCISCO OR NYC - 4 DAYS ON-SITE/WEEK.
The hire will work closely with the existing Healthcare analyst to expand coverage and add bandwidth, particularly across Medical Services and MedTech, with a path toward more direct investment responsibility over time.
Responsibilities
- Analyze alternative datasets to generate company-level and sector insights
- Support ongoing research tied to Healthcare investments
- Clean, structure, and interpret large datasets to identify trends
- Partner with senior analysts to translate data into actionable investment views
- Expand coverage across underfollowed Healthcare sub-sectors
- Contribute to day-to-day research and analytical workflows
Profile Requirements:
- 1β4 years of relevant experience (investing, data-driven research, or similar)
- Strong analytical skill set with ability to work with complex datasets
- Proficiency in Python and SQL (must be comfortable analyzing in Python, not just querying)
- Experience working with alternative or non-traditional datasets
- Ability to synthesize data into clear, investment-relevant conclusions
Preferred:
- Exposure to Healthcare datasets (claims, scripts, hospital data, etc.)
- Experience supporting an investment team or hedge fund clients
- Background at a hedge fund, data vendor, or research-focused environment
Salary : $200,000 - $450,000
