The driver will also be responsible for delivering freight and mail to the post offices using the Amazon platform.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload cargo using pallet jacks, or manual lifting techniques, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
- Deliver goods to customers’ locations promptly while maintaining professional customer service standards
- Verify delivery details, and complete all necessary paperwork accurately
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with company policies
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the truck to ensure optimal performance
- Communicate effectively with customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on route driving and delivery operations
- Prior experience, at least 2yrs operating 26ft box trucks with lift gate or similar vehicles
- Strong background in customer service, demonstrating professionalism and positive communication skills
- Warehouse experience including loading, unloading, heavy lifting, moving freight, delivering furniture and installing appliances
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to heavy lifting and vehicle operation
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for driving a commercial vehicle
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy items repeatedly throughout the shift
