Full-time PM role in Woburn, MA. Project Manager with a strong background in structural steel, welding, or metal fabrication to oversee projects from kickoff through completion. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact between the office, shop, field crews, and customers, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who understands fabrication and welding processes, can interpret blueprints and shop drawings, inspect work for quality and accuracy, and effectively coordinate personnel, materials, and subcontractors throughout each phase of a project.
Responsibilities
Manage multiple fabrication and installation projects from planning through final completion.
Review construction drawings, blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to ensure project requirements are clearly understood.
Coordinate daily activities between the fabrication shop, field installation crews, vendors, and customers.
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and milestones to ensure projects remain on track.
Conduct routine inspections of shop and field work to verify quality, workmanship, and compliance with project specifications.
Identify and resolve fabrication, installation, and scheduling issues before they impact project timelines.
Lead project meetings with customers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and subcontractor activities.
Maintain accurate project documentation, change orders, RFIs, schedules, and progress reports.
Promote a safe work environment while ensuring OSHA and company safety standards are followed.
Work closely with company leadership to prioritize workloads and maximize productivity.
Support estimating, planning, and project closeout activities as needed.
Qualifications
5 years of Project Management experience within a welding, structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or fabrication environment.
Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication processes, and commercial construction projects.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and construction specifications.
Experience leading project teams, coordinating multiple trades, and managing project schedules.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable inspecting fabrication and installation work to ensure quality and adherence to project requirements.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and project management software.
Experience working with ERP, project tracking, or fabrication software is a plus.
Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and construction site safety practices.
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to local job sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working for a structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or custom fabrication company.
Experience coordinating shop production with field installation activities.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore, STRUMIS, or similar construction/fabrication software.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
