As Director of Social Media & Content, you will lead the strategic vision and execution across all brands within the Justin Alexander portfolio. This role blends high-level strategy with on-the-ground leadership, shaping brand identity while guiding content creation and always-on storytelling cross-platform.
You will own the full social ecosystem, from strategy and content execution to performance analytics and community engagement, ensuring a culturally relevant presence aligned with both B2B and B2C objectives.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you will partner closely with Brand Marketing, Digital Marketing/Paid Advertising, Events, PR, Sales, Digital Product and Engineering, and Creative teams to drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversion, delivering measurable business impact. This role oversees a Social Media team of four and is hybrid schedule of 4-days in office & 1-day WFH in Springfield, NJ.
Responsible For:
Global Social Strategy & Execution
- Develop a cohesive, multi-brand social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, YouTube and emerging platforms that drives engagement and growth while aligning with social trends, cultural moments, and business objectives
- Lead and continue to shape social identities across a portfolio of brands, ensuring each brand has a distinct, platform-native voice and presence
- Define platform-specific strategies that balance brand storytelling and performance
- Develop social-first campaigns, supporting key brand activations and seasonal launches, leveraging influencers/creators to amplify reach and encourage social buzz
- Design and operationalize an always-on social content approach across showroom fittings, appointments, designer interviews, influencer collaborations, and real-time capture opportunities
- Oversee social content calendar & cohesion in storytelling, ensuring timely and well-coordinated launches and posts
- Identify cultural trends and social behaviors to spark conversation and drive digital engagement and meaningful impact
Content Creation & Brand Storytelling
- Oversee the development, production and execution of compelling, social content, balancing proactive brand storytelling and reactive social trends
- Lead and support on-the-ground content capture as needed to create timely, high-quality social-first assets
- Strategically leverage AI to improve efficiency and output while maintaining creative control
- Partner on influencer/creator strategy, supporting relationship management, content collaboration, and performance tracking to ensure alignment with broader social objectives
- Oversee digital asset management and organization of all social and creator assets
Community Engagement & Brand Presence
- Oversee community management, ensuring timely, thoughtful, and brand-aligned interactions
- Deepen engagement with brides, retailers, and brand advocates
- Monitor trends, conversations, and cultural moments to keep the brand relevant and innovative
Performance Marketing & Analytics
- Own social performance metrics, establishing KPIs for engagement growth and impact
- Synthesize performance data and community insights into strategic recommendations for content, creative, and channel optimization
- Partner with Digital Marketing to align social storytelling to maximize reach, efficiency and ROI
- Translate various data sets/insights into actionable optimizations to improve performance and inform future strategy
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop the social media team while establishing a high bar for both creative excellence and strategic execution through hands-on leadership and guidance
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment and maximize impact
- Serve as the social media subject matter expert across the organization
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in social media, preferably within fashion, beauty, luxury, or lifestyle brands
- 3–5 years’ experience in managing and developing high-performing teams, including setting clear goals, providing feedback, and fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Proven track record of building, scaling, and evolving social media ecosystems that drive measurable impact across brand awareness, engagement, and conversion
- Deep expertise across core social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook), including a strong understanding of content creation/formats, platform algorithms, and emerging trends
- Proficiency in tools such as Brandwatch, Meta Business Suite, TikTok Analytics, and GA4, with a strong ability to analyze data, derive insights, and inform strategy
- Expertise in social and creative production tools, including content scheduling platforms and industry-standard design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Canva)
- Experience developing and leading influencer programs, leveraging creator partnerships to extend brand storytelling
- Demonstrated ability to translate brand vision into social strategies and tactics that balance storytelling with performance
- Strong creative direction skills, with experience leading content ideation, shoot planning, and real-time content capture in partnership with creative teams
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align social media initiatives to broader company goals, including revenue growth, customer acquisition, and brand positioning
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience influencing senior leadership and presenting strategies, results, and recommendations
- Effectively collaborate with diverse cross functional partners across levels and areas of expertise
- Passion for fashion, storytelling, and the bridal industry, with a strong understanding of the customer journey from inspiration to purchase
- Experience with B2B or wholesale social strategy is a plus!
Travel Requirements
As Director of Social Media & Content, you will be expected to travel to key events, photoshoots, and strategic meetings, dedicating a minimum of 28 travel days per season. Additional travel for retailer visits and leadership events may be required.
Compensation & Benefits
This role has an anticipated base salary range of $110,000 to $145,000 annually. The final offer will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
