JOB REQUIREMENTS: The OWI Case Manager supports individuals
participating in the Dane County OWI Treatment Court, a postconviction
program designed to reduce recidivism and support long-term recovery for
individuals convicted of impaired driving offenses. Participants in this
program typically have a third OWI offense, significant substance use
histories, and complex barriers to stability and sobriety. The Case
Manager works within a team-based model to provide structured case
management, coordinate treatment and recovery services, and ensure
participants are meeting legal and program requirements.
Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing
individualized case plans, supervising participants, coordinating
compliance with Driver Safety Plans, administering drug and alcohol
screenings, participating in weekly court staffing, and providing
accurate documentation to support court decision-making. The role
requires strong communication skills, accountability, and a
client-centered approach grounded in evidence-based practice. Key
Responsibilities: Conduct observed urine drug and alcohol screenings for
participants, consistent with gender appropriate collection protocols
Administer risk and needs assessments (e.g., COMPAS/ORAS) and coordinate
with clinicians for ASAM based treatment planning Develop individualized
case plans that incorporate criminogenic risks, treatment needs, Driver
Safety Plan requirements, and recovery goals Provide direct supervision
and case management to a caseload of OWI Treatment Court participants
Monitor participant compliance with court orders, including attendance
at treatment, alcohol monitoring, and recovery programming Deliver or
facilitate access to evidence-based cognitive-behavioral interventions
(e.g., MRT, T4C, Decision Points) Document all participant contact,
progress, and incidents in the electronic case management system in a
timely and accurate manner Perform other duties as assigned by the
Program Coordinator to advance participant success and program fidelity.
