Responsibilities:
This position is located within a factory of Federal Prison Industries, Inc. (trade name UNICOR), at a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) correctional facility.
Works under the direct supervision of the Factory Manager and is responsible for the technical and administrative supervision of inmate workers in the processing and packaging of a variety of products.
Assigns projects, sets general work priorities, and provides technical assistance as needed. Plans, schedules, and coordinates work operations using the shop floor control module of Systems, Applications and Products (SAP).
Inspects the quality of work being performed and certifies that such work meets specifications contained or referenced in technical manuals, shop manuals, change bulletins, and/or the manufacturer’s commercial technical or assembly data.
Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff's correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
