The Role

The Traveling Sedation Assistant is a dual-function role responsible for supporting IV sedation procedures during clinical sessions and functioning as a dental assistant when scheduled. This position ensures safe sedation practices, accurate medication handling and documentation, and consistent adherence to company protocols, regulatory standards, and quality expectations.

This role requires a high level of clinical competence, attention to detail, and ability to perform in multiple environments.

Morning Responsibilities – Sedation & Clinical Support

• Assist doctors during IV sedation procedures in accordance with clinical protocols and state regulations
• Pull, prepare, verify, and document sedation medications and controlled substances accurately
• Maintain and complete all required sedation logs, drug logs, waste documentation, and related records
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and security of sedation medications and emergency drugs
• Monitor sedation supply levels and report discrepancies or concerns immediately
• Support adherence to sedation safety protocols, emergency preparedness standards, and documentation requirements
• Communicate any sedation-related issues, trends, or risks to leadership in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned.

Afternoon or outside Sedation Hours Responsibilities – Dental Assistant

• Prepare operatory and assist the dentist during extractions
• Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols
• Take and process digital X-rays
• Provide pre-op and post-op instructions to patients
• Update and maintain patient records
• Support front desk when needed (check-in/out, scheduling, phone support, payments)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked work environment
• Ensure efficient patient flow
• Other duties as assigned.

Travel & Coverage

• Travel between all Just Pull It office locations as scheduled
• Maintain flexibility to support sedation days and standard scheduling
• Ensure consistent standards are applied regardless of location
• One way mileage reimbursement from designated home office provided

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Active Dental Assistant certification (per state requirements)
• IV Sedation experience preferred
• Knowledge of controlled substance handling, logging, and compliance standards
• Strong understanding of dental office operations and clinical workflows
• High attention to detail with strong documentation skills
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between locations
• Familiarity with OSHA, HIPAA, and state dental board requirements
• Experience working in multi-location practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
