Job Description: Child Care Teacher (Lead teacher)
The child care teacher is responsible for all aspects of the care & education for the children enrolled in his/her class. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: physical care giving, developmental assessments, following an age-appropriate curricular plan, and facilitation of supportive relationships with director, co-workers, parents, and students. The teacher is accountable for knowing Wisconsin licensing requirements and following the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS).
Qualifications:
· At least 18 years of age
· Associates degree REQUIRED in early childhood education or related degree or,
· Possess a certificate from the Wisconsin Registry, verifying training requirements have been met – minimum level 3
· Has or willing to obtain training in: CPR/First Aid, SIDS,/Shaken Baby, Mandated Reporter, and Abusive Head Trauma
· Must meet yearly training requirements
· Health exam, with TB test
· Must pass background checks: name and fingerprint
· Be able to perform physical labor as needed for the position
Duties:
· Implement provided curriculum
· Supervise daily activities for the classroom
· Interact with children and parents/guardians in a positive and warm manner
· Maintain classroom in an orderly and clean fashion
· Ensure the safety of children assigned to them, in the building, on the playground, or on off-site walks or field trips
· Maintain observations and evaluations of development (per center process)
· Develop a portfolio for each child assigned to them (per center process)
· Contribute to a monthly newsletter
· Carry out care-giving routines such as feeding, diapering, and wiping noses in a warm and gentle manner
· Serve as a role model for social and emotional behavior, speech, and moral character
· Communicate with parents on the development of their child/children, on a daily basis as well as periodic conferences
Must:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
