Position Summary
The A&P Supervisor leads a team of certificated mechanics and technicians performing scheduled inspections, heavy maintenance, modifications, and 24/7 AOG recovery work. This role ensures all tasks meet FAA regulations, manufacturer requirements, and JPM quality standards while maintaining efficient workflow and customer satisfaction. This position requires working a 7 day on 7 day off shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Oversight
- Supervise, schedule, and direct A&P mechanics in hangar, line, and AOG field operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technicians during after-hours AOG events.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a high-performing team.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Enforce FAA Part 145 regulations, company Repair Station Manual (RSM), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
- Verify that all logbook entries, work cards, and inspection records are accurate and complete within our system.
- Operational Management
- Coordinate manpower and resources to meet turnaround times for scheduled maintenance and urgent AOG recoveries.
- Review work orders, parts requirements, and tooling needs to avoid delays.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Customer & Vendor Interaction
- Communicate directly with flight departments, operators, and vendors regarding job status, estimates, and completion timelines.
- Support business development by fostering positive relationships with repeat and new customers.
Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate required; Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of aircraft maintenance experience with heavy emphasis on business jet airframes and AOG events. At least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of business jet and turboprop systems and manufacturers’ maintenance manuals.
- Proven ability to manage AOG events and field repairs under time-critical conditions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with maintenance tracking software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel and work irregular hours to support AOG operations.
