Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health status is maintained
- Support medication administration following prescribed protocols and document accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques
- Help with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and ensuring proper nutrition tailored to individual needs
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts safely to support mobility and prevent injury
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control standards
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through social engagement, active listening, and encouraging participation in activities
Experience
- Prior experience in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or retirement homes is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience assisting individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges in home or community care settings
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia management, and behavior support strategies
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and record keeping
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain required certifications upon hire is appreciated
- Experience working with seniors or in assisted living environments enhances your ability to deliver empathetic, personalized care
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in group home or personal care home settings
