What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meal Maker, Early Learning Center position at Just Like GRAMMY & POPPOP'S?
Reports to: Owner/Administrator
Function: Works under the direct supervision of facility Administrator and does not assume responsibility for a group of children. Is responsible for preparation and delivery of food to eating areas and cleanup; maintenance of kitchen on a daily basis as required.
Authority and Accountability: Is delegated full authority necessary for the effective performance of all assigned responsibilities for Just Like Grammy & PopPop’s LLC policies and instructions; applicable local, state and federal laws.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must have High School degree or GED and be at least 18 years of age.
- Must present a current physical and TB test.
- Must obtain Food Service & Sanitation Certificate at their own expense with reimbursement of all expenses incurred to occur after 3 months of employment without disciplinary action on the employee’s file.
- Candidate must have good health and be agile enough to work with all necessary equipment.
- Must be able to relate well to children, staff, parents and volunteers.
- Must have the ability to read, write and keep records.
- Experience working in a kitchen, preferably in a preschool environment.
- Presents a neat and clean appearance.
Essential Functions
- Prepares meals.
- Delivers meals to classrooms and helps cleanup.
- Stores food before and after serving.
- Every day will be responsible for washing and sterilizing dishes, pots and utensils.
- Washes countertops, sinks and ovens daily.
- Cleans refrigerator, freezer and cupboards as necessary.
- Sweeps and mops kitchen area; cleans and washes oven and refrigerator, takes out trash from kitchen area.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
