Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic CPG and Retail Demand Planner to enhance our supply chain operations within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. This pivotal role focuses on optimizing demand forecasting, inventory planning, and supplier relationships to drive exceptional fill rate performance and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in retail and CPG supply chain dynamics, leveraging advanced analytical skills, trend forecasting, and sound business judgment to align inventory and procurement strategies with company goals and quality standards. This position is critical to ensuring seamless product availability, cost optimization, and an elevated customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demand Forecasting and Inventory Optimization: 
  • Develop and execute sophisticated demand forecasting models to predict customer demand across diverse product categories, incorporating seasonality, market trends, and promotional activities.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance safety stock with demand variability, minimizing stockouts and reducing excess inventory to enhance cash flow.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and consumer behavior to refine inventory strategies, ensuring alignment with sales forecasts and business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and product development teams to synchronize product launches, promotional campaigns, and inventory planning for maximum impact.
• Product Procurement & Supplier Relationship Management: 
  • Oversee end-to-end procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of ingredients and products, maintaining supply chain resilience.
  • Cultivate and strengthen long-term partnerships with key suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors to secure reliable, high-quality supply chains and mitigate risks.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to achieve cost savings while upholding quality standards and delivery timelines.
• Operational Efficiency & Data Driven Insights: 
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance supply chain processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction, operational efficiency, and improved service levels.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and KPIs (e.g., inventory turnover, fill rates, lead times, and procurement costs) to monitor performance and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Implement process improvements to streamline operations, reduce chargebacks, and enhance supply chain agility in response to market demands.
  • Utilize cutting-edge demand planning and forecasting tools to generate actionable insights, ensuring proactive adjustments to supply chain strategies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Scalability:
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to align demand planning with organizational goals and high-volume sales events.
  • Support rapid scaling during peak seasons or promotional periods by ensuring robust inventory and supply chain readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, using data-driven insights to address complex supply chain challenges and enhance customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Operations Management, or a related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
• 5 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or operations, with a focus on CPG and retail environments (health, wellness, or food industry experience strongly preferred).
• Proven expertise in demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and procurement within fast-paced, high-growth retail or CPG experience. (Required)
• Demonstrated success in implementing cost reduction strategies, process improvements, and operational efficiencies in supply chain management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and experience with demand planning tools (e.g., NetSuite, Anaplan, or similar platforms).
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of making data-driven decisions to optimize supply chain performance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• High attention to detail, with a passion for continuous process improvement and operational excellence.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, managing multiple priorities and supporting high-volume sales events.
