WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE - CRATE BUILDING
Pay: $20.00 to $22.00
Shift: Monday through Friday - 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (occasional overtime)
Location: Franklin Park, IL

Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate with experience in crate building to support shipping and logistics operations. This role is responsible for constructing custom crates and packaging solutions to ensure machinery and components are protected during shipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build custom wooden crates, pallets, and skids according to specifications and shipment requirements
- Measure, cut, and assemble lumber using hand and power tools (saws, nail guns, drills, etc.)
- Safely package machinery, parts, and equipment for domestic and international shipping
- Interpret blueprints, work orders, and packaging instructions
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move products and materials
- Assist with loading and unloading shipments as needed
- Inspect finished crates to ensure structural integrity and compliance with shipping standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Previous warehouse or crate-building experience preferred
- Experience using hand tools and power tools required
- Basic carpentry or construction skills strongly preferred
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations
- Forklift experience (certification preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
