Just Hoods LLC is the premier kitchen hood exhaust cleaning company in Kansas City and surrounding areas. With 18 years in the industry, we provide paid training and hands-on leadership to help new hires build a stable career in a growing field. We service commercial kitchens to prevent fire hazards across a roughly 150-mile radius (including Wichita and Manhattan). Company vehicles, per diem, and lodging are provided for travel.
Position Summary
We are hiring dependable kitchen hood exhaust cleaners/technicians to perform commercial hood, duct, and fan cleaning. Work is primarily nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), Sunday–Thursday, with occasional opportunities for daytime or weekend work. Some local travel required.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and clean kitchen exhaust systems to applicable fire-code standards.
- Clean hoods, ductwork, access panels, filters, and exhaust fans.
- Set up and operate equipment: power washers, pump sprayers, containment plastic, and chemicals.
- Complete jobs to a high standard with limited supervision.
- Document work after each service (reports, noted deficiencies, leaks/repairs).
- Take before-and-after photos using a company phone.
- Maintain a professional appearance and communicate effectively with customers and management.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to pass company background checks.
- Able to climb ladders and access rooftops to service fans.
- Capable of working outdoors in hot and cold conditions.
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
- Good attention to detail and communication skills.
- Experience with power washers or restaurant industry experience is a plus but not required. Paid training provided.
Compensation & Benefits
- Commission-based pay; average commissions range from $24–$38 per hour (varies with experience and increases with evaluations/promotions).
