Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including prep work, brushing, hair trimming, pet coat styling, and nail trimming to meet each dog’s specific needs and breed standards
- Handle animals with care and confidence, utilizing animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff during grooming procedures
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide advice on pet coat maintenance and overall pet care
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming stations, tools, and equipment to uphold health standards
- Assist with pet handling and animal care tasks such as feeding, light veterinary assistance, or veterinary technician support when needed
- Manage heavy lifting involved in handling larger dogs or equipment safely and efficiently
- Build strong relationships with clients through excellent customer service, fostering trust and loyalty
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming, including dog handling and animal restraint techniques
- Knowledge of veterinary practices or veterinary technician experience is highly desirable to understand animal health considerations during grooming
- Skills in pet coat styling, pet nail trimming, and general pet grooming are essential
- Strong communication skills to engage with pet owners clearly and professionally about grooming needs and animal care tips
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large dogs or equipment
- Experience in animal care roles such as veterinary assistant or veterinary technician enhances your suitability for this role
- A passion for animal welfare combined with excellent customer service skills ensures a positive experience for both pets and their owners
- Must be able to work in a fast paced atmosphere and multi-task
- Pet CPR & First Aid Training will be provided
- Must have transportation
