Job Summary
The Child and Youth Program Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children and youth in our programs. Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
- Provide care for infants and toddlers, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Support children with disabilities by adapting activities to meet their individual needs.
- Foster a positive learning environment through effective behavior management techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom or play area to ensure a safe space for children.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team approach to childcare.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to early childhood education and caregiving.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:
- Previous experience working with children in various capacities such as babysitting, nannying, or daycare settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Familiarity with first aid procedures is preferred or willing to be trained
- Background in teaching or classroom experience is advantageous.
- Experience caring for infants and toddlers is highly desirable.
