Overview
We are seeking a spoken word poet for live performances tied to the Sacrifice screening experience. This role is for a powerful storyteller who can command a room through voice, rhythm, and emotion, and who understands how poetry can deepen the narrative of a live cinematic event.
This is a paid opportunity for a poet who is committed, expressive, and able to collaborate within a structured rehearsal process.
Schedule & Commitment (REQUIRED)

Rehearsals:
- January 12 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- January 19 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- January 26 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- February 2 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- February 3 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- February 10 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- February 11 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Event Days:
- January 31 | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- February 14 | 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Perform original or assigned spoken word pieces aligned with the themes of Sacrifice
- Attend all rehearsals to refine delivery, timing, and emotional impact
- Collaborate with the director and creative team to integrate poetry into the live performance
- Adjust pacing and tone to match live cues and transitions
- Maintain professionalism during rehearsals and events
Qualifications & Experience
- Spoken word, poetry, or performance writing experience required
- Comfortable performing live in front of an audience
- Strong storytelling ability and stage presence
- Ability to take direction and work collaboratively
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to all required dates
- Previous live performance or event experience preferred
