The Jupiter Supper Club is seeking a diligent and proactive Busser/Food Runner to enhance our back-of-house team at our venue, which features a main dining room, two bars, and a music room. This role is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of our restaurant by supporting waitstaff, ensuring timely delivery of food, and upholding the high standards of service that define our establishment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, energetic, and dedicated to enhancing the overall guest experience.
Responsibilities of a Server Assistant:
Table Maintenance and Preparation
- Promptly clear and clean tables after guests depart, ensuring all dishes, utensils, and glassware are removed.
- Reset tables with silverware and glassware according to restaurant standards.
- Monitor the dining area to address any issues, such as spills or debris, and take action as needed.
Food Running and Delivery
- Retrieve and deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests efficiently, ensuring accuracy in orders and keep up with presentation standards.
- Verify that each dish matches the guest s order before serving, and promptly address any discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
Assisting Servers
- Support servers by refilling water glasses, bringing additional utensils, condiments, and accompaniments as requested.
- Assist with handling any special guest requests.
- Help with the smooth execution of service by anticipating and addressing needs before they are expressed.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Regularly clean and sanitize service areas, including floors, countertops, and restrooms, to maintain a high standard of hygiene
- Handle trash and recycling disposal efficiently.
- Assist with the organization and restocking of service areas.
Guest Interaction
- Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any questions or requests with a positive attitude.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to coordinate service and address any issues that arise.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about menu changes, service protocols, and any new procedures.
Adherence to Standards
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Follow the restaurant s policies and procedures, including dress code, grooming standards, and service expectations.
Server Assistant Job Requirements:
- Knowledge on TOAST POS preferred
- Two to three years experience working as a runner or busser
- TABC & Food Handlers Certifications required
- Wine and Beverage knowledge is a MUST
- Work authorization in the United States
