We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Floater Preschool Teacher to join our dynamic team. As a floater teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old. Your primary responsibility will be to support our lead teachers and assist in various classrooms, ensuring the smooth operation of our preschool during the early morning hours.
Position: Floater Preschool Teacher
Hours: 7:00-4:30 or 8:30-5:30
Responsibilities:
- Classroom Assistance: Work collaboratively with lead teachers to assist in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for children in different classrooms.
- Supporting Activities: Participate in circle time, story reading, art projects, playtime, and other educational and recreational activities that promote children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Supervision: Maintain a safe and secure environment, ensuring the well-being and safety of all children in the preschool.
- Individualized Attention: Provide individualized attention to children, fostering their self-esteem, and encouraging their learning and exploration.
- Diapering and Toileting: Assist in diapering and toilet training activities as needed, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with lead teachers, other staff members, and parents/guardians regarding children's progress, daily activities, and any concerns.
- Behavior Guidance: Implement positive behavior guidance techniques to encourage positive interactions and resolve conflicts among children.
- Safety and Health: Adhere to all safety and health regulations and protocols, including emergency procedures, to create a secure and healthy environment for children.
- Cleanliness: Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the classrooms and shared spaces during and after activities.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay updated with the latest developments in early childhood education.
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification is a plus.
- Previous experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting is preferred.
- Strong passion for early childhood education and a nurturing attitude towards children.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability to meet the needs of each child.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain one) is an advantage.
