About the role

Juno is looking for a Fluid Systems Responsible Engineer to own the fluid systems for upcoming in-space propulsion prototypes and products. This role will involve developing requirements based on mission objectives, designing the fluid systems, ordering components, and leading unit and system cold flow tests.

This position offers a high level of ownership in the company’s success, including contributing to Juno’s first on-orbit flight demonstration mission in 2026. For this reason, we are looking for engineers who are creative thinkers, excited to work on difficult problems, open to learning and growth both technically and professionally, and ready to launch real systems to space.


Role responsibilities include:

·        Creating requirements for spaceflight fluid systems and working with customer inputs

·        Designing and development of spaceflight fluid components and hardware

·        System architecture design, including integration of physical components

·        Creation of P&IDs, CAD models

·        Analysis of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and general thermodynamics

·        Sourcing and procurement of components, with consideration to seals, material compatibility, power requirements, etc.

·        Assisting with unit and system test campaign operation and data reduction and review

·        Drafting test plans to achieve overall test and qualification goals

·        Familiarity with range safety requirements and operational standards for satellite propulsion systems

·        Coordination with vendors to streamline fabrication & procurement and help reduce costs and timelines

·        Conducting design reviews, analyze data, and prepare technical reports to communicate project progress and results

·        Identifying risks and introducing innovative strategies to effectively address them

·        Conduct work with a commitment to the highest levels of safety and integrity


Essential skills

·        Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, chemical or physics desired)

·        3 years of experience in the aerospace industry or academia working on fluid systems

·        Firm grasp of engineering fundamentals (fluid dynamics, heat transfer, etc.)

·        Experience taking basic design requirements and translating them into realizable physical products

·        Experience with tools like CAD, GFSSP, MATLAB/Python

·        Experience with designing and fabricating fluid systems

·        Dedication to creating an inclusive team and company culture


Desirable skills

·        Advanced degree in aerospace, mechanical, or other discipline of engineering (Master’s or higher)

·        Industry experience with product development or flight hardware

·        Experience working with fluid systems, including high pressure gas & liquid operations

·        Prior experience with propulsion systems


Position type

This is an in-person regular, salaried, full-time position.

Compensation

The annual salary range is $80,000-120,000 based on qualifications and experience.
