Position: Bioinformatics Data Scientist
Duties:
Design and implement bioinformatics workflows and software tools to support genomics and biomedical research. Develop and maintain Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to automate the capture, processing, and reporting of sequencing data. Build scalable data pipelines for genomic, transcriptomic, and multi-omic data analysis. Apply statistical and machine learning methods to high-throughput sequencing datasets. Create dashboards and visualization tools for research data interpretation and reporting. Ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and compliance with research and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field, and two years of experience in a diagnostic lab or clinical research environment developing and supporting LIMS. Must have experience with Python (Flask/Jinja2 and CGI framework), R, SQL, AWS, statistical data analysis, Shell scripting, and Linux in a production environment.
