We donate reusable items to local community organizations, reducing landfill waste, and supporting our neighborhoods. We also own and operate Doorstep Details of South Chicago, offering nightly valet waste and recycling services to multifamily and commercial properties, giving our clients a full-service waste management solution.
The Opportunity
We’re hiring a driven Outside Sales Contractor to expand Junk Shot’s customer base and establish ongoing business relationships in the Chicago market. Your primary focus will be to generate new junk removal jobs and build strong partnerships with residential customers, property managers, contractors, real estate brokers, estate attorneys, storage facility operators, and other commercial customers. You’ll also have the opportunity to upsell or refer Doorstep Details services to customers who need long-term property waste solutions.
This is a 90-day contract role with potential to extend based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and engage commercial and residential customers throughout Chicagoland.
- Meet with property managers, contractors, and local business owners to present services.
- Build preferred vendor relationships with repeat commercial customers.
- Use social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook) to showcase our services, sustainability work, and customer results.
- Upsell Doorstep Details contracts for additional earnings.
- Provide concise weekly reports summarizing outreach activity, meetings, jobs booked, and new opportunities.
- Submit a monthly performance summary highlighting new customers, revenue generated, and future targets.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects and follow-ups to ensure consistent growth.
Compensation
Base Pay: $10,000 (90-day contract)
Travel & Marketing Allowance: $500
Commission: 10% commission on the first job from each new Junk Shot customer you bring in.
Upsell Bonus: Earn $500 for every new Doorstep Details contract signed as a result of your sales efforts.
Estimated Earnings: $14,000–$16,000 in 3 months
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in outside or field sales (home services, property services, or commercial accounts, etc.).
- Comfortable with cold calling, networking, and face-to-face selling.
- Familiar with social media marketing and business outreach online.
- Professional, self-motivated, and driven by results.
- Based in Chicagoland with reliable transportation for local visits.
- Must have access to a laptop or tablet, reliable internet connection, and a smartphone for communication, reporting, and lead management.
