Job Summary
The CMM Programmer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing CMM inspection programs to verify materials, tooling, and manufactured parts meet engineering and quality requirements. This role performs dimensional inspections, establishes inspection setups, determines part conformity, and documents results in accordance with quality standards. A strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and precision inspection is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute CMM programs for dimensional inspection of manufactured parts.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections using CMMs and conventional inspection equipment.
- Program and operate Zeiss DB Series CMMs using Calypso software.
- Conduct surface plate layouts and precision measurements using standard inspection tools.
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T per ANSI Y14.5.
- Complete inspection documentation, including AS9102 First Article Reports.
- Support ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality requirements and statistical process control activities.
- Utilize FARO laser tracking and model-based inspection methods as needed.
- Manage multiple inspection projects and priorities.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with CMM programming and operation.
- Proficiency with Zeiss CMMs and Calypso software preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and close-tolerance inspection.
- Experience using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
- Understanding of statistical quality control, MIL-Specs, ISO 9001, and AS9100 standards.
