## Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the monthly and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain the general ledger and help ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Own key areas of manufacturing accounting, including inventory, cost accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and gross margin reporting.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and company leadership to understand production activity and ensure accurate financial results.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and capital project tracking.
- Assist with the development, documentation, and monitoring of internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis by preparing reports and investigating variances.
- Coordinate audit requests and prepare schedules for external auditors.
- Prepare and file 1099 forms accurately and on time, and maintain related vendor tax documentation.
- Help identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting, and strengthen the overall accounting function.
- Serve as a key backup and partner to the Controller, helping oversee day-to-day accounting operations and special projects as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
- Hands-on experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, fixed assets, and account reconciliations.
- Experience supporting month-end close, audits, and internal controls.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work cross-functionally with finance and operations teams.
- CPA or CMA is a plus.
- Supervisory or leadership experience is a plus.
