What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at Juniper Ridge?
Overview of Production Manager:
The Production Manager is responsible for managing and directing all production activities. Coordinates the production of goods with warehouse staff. The Production Manager reports to the Head of the Company to ensure that we are in stock of all finished goods and ensures quality control while maximizing efficiency. The production manager will also negotiate the purchase of supplies, shipments, labels, and orders and research, comparing prices to identify the best price.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Be an organized negotiator creating and scheduling production orders
- Comfortable using Excel and Quickbooks for admin work
- Managing sourcing and the production process to ensure efficient and cost effective timely production to meet our sales demands
- Focus on new product development and creative input
- Ensure new labeling adheres well to current bottles-
- Develop production schedules and manage excel sheet assignments to replenish stock
- Coordinates production of inventory according to supplies needed
- Ordering all necessary materials to produce products and keeping them in stock
- Set and meets production goals-Organizing supply materials to be shipped out
- Helping to correct any problems on the production line
- Relationship management with our vendors and negotiating discounts
- Coordinating and managing our wildcrafting department, including organizing and attending wildcrafting harvests (involves travel)
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs and employee training if needed
- Maintenance and repair of all warehouse machines & equipment including proper documentation and maintenance schedules
- Keep abreast of new technology that can be used in the production process
- Assessing project and resource requirements
- Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met
- Process documentation (DMV, CHP, USDOT) to ensure compliance of our vehicle fleet
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance management, manufacturing, or production
- Mathematical skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Planning, organization & priority setting
- Computer skills (Internet research, MS Word, Excel, Quickbooks)
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and task-oriented
- Valid CA driver's license ** must have a clean driving record
