Mentor – Juniper Haven Residential Treatment Center

Juniper Haven is seeking compassionate, reliable Mentors to join our residential treatment team serving adolescent girls. Our program provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for youth who have experienced trauma, mental health challenges, and substance use.

As a Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting residents’ daily routines, modeling healthy behaviors, and helping create a positive, therapeutic community that promotes healing and growth.

Schedule

Swing Shift: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Plus 1 Sunday every 5 weeks | 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Or

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Plus 1 Sunday every 5 weeks | 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision to ensure residents’ safety, well-being, and adherence to program structure.
• Foster a respectful, supportive, and trauma-informed environment that promotes trust and positive relationships.
• Maintain and support a structured daily schedule, including meals, recreation, therapeutic groups, and hygiene routines.
• Teach and reinforce essential life skills such as personal hygiene, self-care, and daily living tasks.
• Support participation in therapeutic activities, outings, and skill-building exercises as directed by the clinical team.
• Utilize effective crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies in alignment with established protocols.
• Partner with clinicians to implement individualized treatment plans and communicate resident progress.
• Accurately document observations, incidents, and interactions while maintaining confidentiality.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions to support professional growth.
• Collaborate with families, schools, and community providers to ensure coordinated care.
• Model professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Experience in a residential treatment center, group home, or similar setting—especially with adolescents—preferred.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care, adolescent development, and behavior management strategies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress or crisis situations.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to complete electronic documentation.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Ability to pass required background checks and clearances.
