In this role, you will prepare and paint custom-ordered and custom-manufactured lighting fixtures according to specifications, mix paint and lacquers as required, and use spray guns and other equipment to ensure a high-quality finish and appearance. You must have experience in mixing coatings that require catalysts and thinners, and the ability to calculate percentages using a calculator based on product technical data sheets.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Apply industrial paint finishes on metals for high-end quality lighting products.
- Apply coatings, such as paint or lacquer, to protect workpiece surfaces, using spray guns or brushes.
- Operate and use the paint booth, humidity control, and drying times/cure rates, and control appropriately during the painting process.
- Perform a variety of surface preparation processes, including bead blasting, sandblasting, and belt sanding.
- Utilize different painting techniques based on the surface's nature and the required quality.
- Mix paints, lacquers, and other solutions to achieve the proper consistency.
- Examine finished surfaces to verify conformance to specifications and retouch and rework any defective areas to meet quality requirements.
Preferred qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years of industrial painting experience is required.
- Experience operating and maintaining spray guns, heated paint booths, and all related equipment.
- Experience in surface preparation, including dent repair, scratches, etc.
- Experience applying paints and other coatings to a variety of surface types.
- Experience mixing, tinting, and applying multiple paint types, including 2-part catalyzed paints.
- Diligence and attention to detail.
- Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent reading comprehension and capacity to follow written directions.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and measurements.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
