Role: Manages the day-to-day operations of the personal care and skilled nursing community to ensure the maximum levels of resident, family and staff safety, wellness and satisfaction. This is accomplished by the provision of sound fiscal management, effective marketing and public relations strategy and taking into account Juniper Village philosophy, hallmarks, policies and procedures as well as current federal, state and local regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform continuous, ongoing supervision of all leadership team members, including but not limited to training, disciplining, counseling motivating and evaluating oversees these functions for all other staff.
- Maintains a stable, trained, competent and caring staff through an effective performance management program that includes; recruitment, interviewing and selection of staff, orientation and training, performance evaluation, establishing clear job performance expectations, setting quality standards of practice, providing coaching and counseling, associate retention and following established policies and procedures and state, local and federal regulations.
- Provide sound fiscal management, including effective management of monthly expenses, tracking and collection of accounts receivable and oversight of accounts payable and monthly cash flow. Develops annual budget and participates in strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with documentation and record keeping to meet current regulatory compliance standards.
- Ensure the provision of high-quality care to all residents, including personal care, activities, nutritional services, medications, attention to psychosocial needs, and general oversight.
- Establish overall QAPI objectives for the community and assign responsibility for fulfillment.
- Provide oversight and direction for the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI)
- Create and maintain a consistent process (e.g. scheduled rounding, active participation on quality committee) to stay informed of all QAPI efforts underway including their progress and achievement.
- Program to include assessments, audits and improvement plans for key finance and operations areas.
- Establish Safety Programs to assure resident and staff wellbeing and to reduce community liability exposure.
- Plan and implement a strategic community outreach program in conjunction with Juniper Management to ensure that census goals are met or exceeded. Community outreach responsibilities include development and placement of appropriate advertising, assisting in the development of marketing materials, participation in networking meetings, maintaining a good relationship with referral sources and establishes an effective system to manage and provide timely follow-up with inquiries and referrals.
- Plans and implements a comprehensive, effective, flexible admission process that includes; making timely decisions on admission and obtaining necessary documentation and information to meet the needs of potential residents, their family members, referral sources and community staff.
- Maintains positive relationships with residents and family members and ensures regular ongoing communication related to the physical, mental and emotional needs of the resident.
- Manages conflict, complaints and concerns with residents, family members, staff and others in a clear, thoughtful, direct and respectful manner that reflects the professional integrity of Juniper Management and Juniper Village
- A valid Nursing Home Administrator’s license in good standing.
- A Bachelor’s Degree
- Previous management and leadership experience in healthcare or service-related setting.
- Knowledge of physiology and psychology of the older adult.
- Experience in working supervision of employee groups.
