Responsibilities:Food Preparation & Quality
- Prepare ingredients for daily meals, including chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and portioning proteins.
- Follow standardized recipes and dietary guidelines that support resident health, special diets, and culinary satisfaction.
- Assist in the preparation of soups, sauces, baked goods, salads, and other menu items as assigned.
- Maintain the high culinary standards of Juniper’s H’art & Soul of Dining program — emphasizing scratch cooking, fresh flavors, beautiful presentation, and hospitality.
- Properly label, store, and rotate food using FIFO standards to ensure freshness and safety.
- Keep prep areas clean, sanitized, and organized in accordance with state, local, and Juniper standards.
- Assist the Cook or Chef with cooking tasks during peak periods.
- Set up and break down workstations efficiently.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols.
- Adhere to dietary restrictions and physician-ordered meal modifications for residents.
- Maintain compliance with Juniper’s Green Canopy sustainability practices when handling supplies and waste.
- Support a warm, resident-centered environment by engaging kindly with residents and team members.
- Communicate effectively with the culinary team to ensure smooth service.
- Participate in ongoing training
