Line Cook 1 - FT (Variable Shift) [PENITAS]

Job Purpose:
- To prepare and cook a variety of hot food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely service.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook hot food items such as meats, vegetables, soups, sauces, and starches according to standardized recipes and production sheets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and rotation procedures to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Monitor food quality and temperature throughout the cooking process, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, and steamers.
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely food preparation and service.
- Follow instructions from the Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager regarding daily tasks and special requests.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including dress code and attendance guidelines.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.

Additional Duties: Management reserves the right to assign additional tasks as necessary to support store operations. Employees will be provided with proper training and protective equipment for any and all assigned tasks that require special handling.

Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a high-volume kitchen environment, specifically working with hot foods.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated proficiency in various cooking methods, including grilling, frying, sautéing, and roasting.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and maintain consistent food quality and presentation.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.                                                                                                                                                            - Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
