These lessons align with national and state educational standards and are delivered to millions of students across the country with the help of our education partners and volunteers from the local community. In the Capital Region, JA of Northeastern NY impacts over 13,000 students annually with our programs.

 

The Education Programs Associate oversees partnership development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs and initiatives aimed at empowering young people with skills and inspiration needed to succeed.

 

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned JA programs (such as JA Titan, JA Job Shadow, JA Finance Park) from planning through execution, while supporting the organization's broader educational programming.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with K-12 teachers, school administrators, and local community partners to promote JA programs.
  • Recruit, train, and support JA program volunteers, helping them understand program objectives and providing guidance on program delivery.
  • Coordinate placement and scheduling of trained volunteers.
  • Continually provide motivation, feedback, program materials and resources to volunteers and teachers.
  • Execute volunteer and teacher surveys for better program delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of program activities, including volunteer hours, student participation, and program outcomes.
  • Assist in organizing and supporting JA events.

 

Qualifications

  • Highly organized with a background that includes elements of planning, coordination, and evaluation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to connect well with teachers, administrators, volunteers, students and community partners.
  • Familiarity with financial literacy concepts and practices to effectively convey the mission of JA to teachers and volunteer
  • Familiarity with using Microsoft excel and Google docs, and aptitude for learning new software applications. Junior Achievement's digital platform is always evolving, and the schools & other partners we work with have varying systems.
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as education, non-profit management, business, or a related discipline is desirable.


This position may be structured as either part-time (approximately 20-25 hours per week) or full-time, depending on the qualifications and preferences of the selected candidate. Standard work hours are Monday-Friday during normal business hours, though some work can be completed outside those hours as needed. Due to the seasonality of our programs, workload naturally fluctuates throughout the year, with lighter demands during the summer months.


This position is largely remote but requires in person meetings with fellow staff and education partners regularly, so only candidates currently residing in the Capital Region of NY will be considered. The pay range for this position is $24-$32 per hour.
