Position Summary
The Development Manager is responsible for managing core fundraising operations with a focus on special events sponsorships (Business Hall of Fame, City Stars Soirée, and Peer-to-peer fundraising/Play4JA), the annual fund/secure mid-level donors including GiveNOLA Day and Giving Tuesday, support Foundation and grant funding, and all backend tracking and reporting. This role ensures fundraising initiatives are well-coordinated, data-driven, and donor-centered, enabling the organization to meet revenue goals while delivering a strong, consistent donor experience.
Key Responsibilities
Special Event Sponsorships
· Secure, manage, and fulfill event sponsorships
· Ensure sponsors receive agreed-upon recognition, benefits, and reporting
· Assist with event logistics, timelines, vendors, and internal coordination
· Manages reconciliation and data entry to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
Annual Fund
· Manage the annual giving program, including appeals, giving days, and recurring gifts
· Support donor acquisition, retention, and upgrade strategies
· Track annual fund performance against revenue and participation goals
Foundation & Grant Funding
- Support of grant strategy, including prospect research, proposal development, submissions, and reporting
- Support grant calendars and ensure compliance with funder requirements and deadlines
Donor Stewardship
· Implement donor stewardship plans to strengthen relationships and long-term retention
· Ensure timely acknowledgments, thank-you letters, and impact communications
· Support donor engagement through regular updates, reports, and touchpoints
Backend Tracking & Systems
· Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM, including gifts, pledges, and interactions
· Track fundraising metrics and support reporting
· Manage gift processing, reconciliation, and data integrity
· Support compliance and documentation for audits and reporting requirements
Collaboration & Support
· Work closely with development leadership, program, and finance teams to align fundraising and impact
· Support board and volunteer fundraising activities with data, materials, and follow-up
· Assist with special development projects and campaigns as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years of nonprofit development or fundraising experience
- Experience with event fundraising, annual giving, and donor stewardship
- Strong CRM/database experience (Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or similar)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
