Under general supervision, responsible for operation and maintenance of, but not limited to, campus electrical system, substations, switchgear, main distribution panels, sub panels, wiring and related equipment and devices.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs repairs, routine and planned maintenance, as well as installations on electrical equipment and devices such as, but not limited to, wiring, switches, receptacles, interior and exterior lighting, ballasts, fuses, breakers, and panels.
- Performs inspections, repairs, routine and planned maintenance, as well as installations of emergency lighting, emergency generators and related equipment and devices.
- Performs necessary repairs to faulty equipment and systems, as well as vacuum cleaners.
- Troubleshoots and performs repairs, routine and planned maintenance to variable frequency drives.
- Performs necessary repairs, routine and planned maintenance on dimming systems.
- Performs minor maintenance on building fire alarm systems.
- Performs routine inspections of all electrical rooms for cleanliness and malfunctioning equipment.
- Performs minor repairs on all College owned vehicles as required.
- Owns and uses personal hand tools.
- Responsible for recording and notifying supervisor of need for any/all maintenance and repairs to electrical distribution system, substations, switchgear, main distribution panels, sub panels, wiring and related equipment and devices.
- Responsible for recording and notifying supervisor of need for elimination of safety hazards.
- Makes recommendations about actions to be taken, appropriate materials and quantity estimates required for the job.
- Cleans equipment and project work area including disposal of debris and scrapped material.
- Assists with other classifications as assigned.
- Assists with setups, takedowns, moves and snow removal, as well as cleans fleet vehicles.
- Assists with the training of trainees and other persons not familiar with the duties and responsibilities of this classification.
