Juniata College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Nursing to support the launch and growth of its new Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN ) program, beginning August 2026.
Candidates holding a terminal degree ( DNP , PhD, or DEd) will be considered for this tenure-track position. Highly qualified applicants with an MSN may be considered for a three-year renewable full-time appointment with the expectation of enrolling in and completing a terminal degree to be eligible for future conversion to tenure track.
This on-campus position includes teaching across didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings, with opportunities to contribute to the undergraduate curriculum based on expertise and program needs. The faculty member will play a key role in developing and delivering a student-centered, liberal-arts-based nursing curriculum that fosters professional identity formation, clinical reasoning, communication, and ethical practice.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, and engage in ongoing professional development aligned with the mission and values of Juniata College.
Primary Responsibilities
- Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field ( DNP , PhD, or EdD), or active enrollment in a doctoral program.
- Experience teaching in undergraduate nursing programs across classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings.
- Familiarity with simulation-based learning, interprofessional education, and integration of liberal arts within nursing curricula.
- Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation processes.
- Proficiency in using simulation technology and electronic health records (EHRs) to support teaching and learning.

- Apply innovative, evidence-based teaching strategies that promote active learning and integrate liberal arts principles into nursing education.
- Contribute to curriculum design and assessment to ensure alignment with the AACN BSN Essentials (2021), NCLEX -RN Test Plan, and Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing standards.
- Participate in ongoing program evaluation, quality improvement, and accreditation activities.
