Full-Time Position (1.0 FTE)

TEACHING POSITION: Requires Alaska teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement (s) (for information visit: http://www.eed.state.ak.us/TeacherCertification).

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for full monitoring and support for students enrolled in Juneau School District's homeschool program, HomeBRIDGE. Responsible for monitoring student Independent Learning Plans and meeting regularly with students and families. Responsible for implementing program description, assessment plan, and program evaluation in line with school district policy, procedure, and school board direction.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education.
• Valid Alaska teaching certificate, preferably with an elementary endorsement.
• Must be flexible and able to work with colleagues in multiple settings.
• Must demonstrate an appreciation for parental concern regarding students and be available to parents.
• Excellent interpersonal skills that promote positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Ability to be flexible as the need arises.
• Strong personal skills that contribute to a positive environment are a must.
  
  

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's degree in education.
• Minimum of two years classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Experience as an academic advisor preferred.
• Experience with homeschool programs or working with students in a homeschool or alternative setting preferred.
