Job Description
Established Personal Care Manufacturer seeking a Receiving Clerk to become part of a team. Ideal candidate will be responsible for accurate physical receiving of raw materials and a variety of other products in order to maintain integrity of inventory control, and insures delivery of materials and products to the proper location and department and performs a variety of receiving and shipping tasks.
Position responsibilities:
- Receives inbound deliveries which include raw materials, third party bulk, supplies, drums, totes, etc.; ensures documents match with the material/product received.
- Records and checks quantity and quality of goods received.
- Inspects, accepts or rejects inbound shipments.
- Accurately inputs received material into computer system and forwards documentation to proper parties.
- Distributes raw materials to their corresponding location.
- Delivers product to appropriate personnel.
- Arranges the shipment of returned raw materials, supplies, bulk, totes, etc.
- Assist with disposal of bulk and raw materials.
- Communicates and coordinates with appropriate personnel for product return/repair.
- Receives manufactured bulk from internal department.
- Transfers bulk to production floor.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and managers.
- Maintains safe work environment according to all department procedures.
- Wears personal protective equipment as necessary for the job.
- Assists in other departments as needed.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required.
Education
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three years of related experience and/or training
Communication Skills
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and be able to interpret documents such as Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, purchase orders, Certificate of Analysis, Material Safety Data Sheets, Receivers, etc. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from both internal and external individuals. Understands and adheres to organizational and department policy and procedures and operates with a sense of team work.
Bilingual a plus (English/Spanish)
Mathematical Skills
Ability to learn and use conversions from kilos to lbs and vice versa by using a calculator as well as general basic math skills.
Computer Skills
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet. Experience with Batchmaster ERP or similar desirable but not necessary.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions
The physical ability to lift and carry at least 55lbs for short distances
The physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Exposure to fumes, dirt, noise and hazardous chemicals on a daily basis. May require safety equipment and/or precautions.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirator.
Bonus Compensation
Bonus structure of $125/week for a minimum of 2 months.
