About Jumpwire Media

Jumpwire Media is a Santa Monica-based event and AV production company built by former television producers from CBS, BBC, Endemol, and Entertainment Tonight. We bring broadcast-level production standards to corporate conferences, association events, hybrid summits, and virtual webinars across the country. We're a lean, senior team that punches far above its weight — and we're growing.

The Role

This is not a mid-level production job. We're hiring a second-in-command — someone who can run the show, own client relationships, lead crews, solve problems on the fly, and grow the business alongside the founder.

You'll be the most senior operator in the company after the founder. On any given week you might be negotiating an in-house AV quote down six figures for a client, running a technical rehearsal for a hybrid conference, pitching a prospective association on a multi-year production partnership, and managing the freelancers and staff who make it all happen.

The right person is equal parts producer, technician, salesperson, and leader. If you've spent your career waiting for the role where you finally get to run things — this is it.

What You'll Own

  • Show delivery, end to end. Pre-production planning, vendor and venue coordination, on-site technical direction, crew management, and post-event wrap for in-person, hybrid, and virtual events.
  • Client relationships. You'll be the day-to-day senior contact for our conference and association clients — trusted enough that the founder doesn't need to be in every meeting.
  • Sales and growth. Scope new opportunities, build proposals and budgets, present to prospective clients, and close. You'll carry real revenue responsibility and be rewarded for it.
  • Team leadership. Direct staff, contractors, and show crews. Hire freelancers, set standards, and make sure things get done — on time, on budget, at broadcast quality.
  • Virtual and hybrid production. Own our webinar and virtual event delivery: platforms, streaming workflows, remote presenter management, and troubleshooting live.
  • Problem-solving under pressure. When something breaks 10 minutes before doors, you're the person the room looks to — and you like it that way.

What You Must Have

  • 7 years of professional AV / event production experience, with a meaningful portion in a managerial or leadership role (production manager, technical director, senior producer, or equivalent).
  • Deep technical fluency: audio, video, lighting, staging, switching, and streaming. You can talk spec sheets with a union crew and translate it into plain English for a client.
  • Virtual event / webinar production experience — you've produced live-streamed or hybrid programs and know the platforms, the failure points, and the fixes.
  • Proven client-facing and sales ability. You've scoped, quoted, pitched, and won business — or you've been the reason clients renewed.
  • Exceptional people skills. You lead crews without ego, manage clients without friction, and keep your head when everyone else is losing theirs.
  • Based in the Los Angeles area. This is an on-site role headquartered in Santa Monica, with regular travel to shows. Relocation candidates will not be considered.

Nice to Have

  • Broadcast television or live production background
  • Experience negotiating with in-house AV providers (Encore, Pinnacle Live, PSAV legacy) on behalf of clients
  • Association / conference industry relationships
  • Familiarity with proposal tools, CRM (Pipedrive/HubSpot), and modern AI-assisted workflows

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

  • You're running client events independently, with the founder focused on growth and new ventures.
  • Clients know you by name and call you first.
  • You've closed or materially advanced at least one significant new account.
  • The crews you manage want to work with you again.

What We Offer

  • $90,000 – $125,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
  • Uncapped commission: 5% of first-year revenue on new business you originate and close, plus 2% on renewals and expansions of accounts you manage — paid quarterly on collected revenue. A strong seller should expect total compensation of $140K .
  • Employer-contributed health insurance
  • Paid vacation and California paid sick leave
  • A senior seat at a growing company — real authority, real ownership of outcomes, direct partnership with the founder
  • The chance to work at broadcast standards with a team that's actually done it at the network level
